How I Began Dog Training…
In 2008 I graduated from the Triple Crown Academy School for Professional Dog Trainers in Hutto, Texas, earning my certification as a Canine Training and Behavior Specialist. My dream of becoming a certified dog trainer had indeed finally come true!
For as long as I can remember, dogs have been the love of my life. Having always been interested in canine behavior and how dog’s learn, I knew that someday I would spend my life working with them. As a young girl, I started my own pet-sitting business in my neighborhood that quickly became a love of mine. It was never a job to me, but always a privilege! I loved every minute of being able to watch and care for different breeds, temperaments, ages, and sexes of dogs. Over the years and after much research and many phone calls, I decided to purchase my very own dog apart from our family dog. In 2001, I welcomed home a German shorthaired pointer, named
Randi. When Randi was 4 months old I began in-home lessons with Susie Danzis of Training Tails. My private training lesson with her was the highlight to my week! I loved watching Randi learn! It was with Susie and Randi that my love of canine behavior and training first blossomed into what it is today – my passion! Throughout the following years, I added two more amazing dogs to my family: an English springer spaniel, named Colter, and another German shorthaired pointer, named Addie. Let’s just say there is never a day that smiles and laughs don’t come about within my home!
My schooling allowed me the amazing opportunity to train and work with such a diverse group of dogs and experiences. Whether it was through advanced or competitive obedience, agility, search and rescue, protection, narcotics, service dog work or other areas of training, there were boundless amounts of knowledge to be learned. Today, I enjoy furthering my own dogs training in advanced and competitive obedience, agility, and someday soon, therapy work. I look forward to attending upcoming seminars to expand my knowledge and education even further. Training dogs is truly a privilege to me as I have the joy of working each and every day with these magnificent animals!
